 Allergy Days

I always look forward to spring, but this is the worst time of year for pollen allergies. Swollen eyes, headaches, stuffy nose - I hate it! The past few days have been dry and windy and its been absolutely miserable. There is a fine yellow film of pollen all over my black van - yuck, we are breathing that stuff in! No wonder there's a lot of sneezing going on

Sunday I had a great Mother's Day, with calls from Bryan and Michelle, and Andy came by with a really cute plant. I think it may be some kind of fancy miniature marigold, based on what the leaves look like - I'm going to have to look online and see if I can figure out what it is. I'll plant it outside sometime this week - maybe after a rain shower tomorrow that should settle the pollen down a bit! Here's a quick photo - anyone have any ideas?

I woke up at 2 am Monday morning with terrible stomach pains, and got violently ill - I was up most of the rest of the night with it, and it continued through the morning. I don't know if something I ate was bad, or if it was a stomach virus, but it was awful! I was pretty much either passed out on the couch or in the bathroom all day and all evening. Woke up yesterday, and felt pretty good. I was very careful about what I ate all day yesterday, and whatever it was seems to have passed - I wouldn't look forward to going through that again!

Besides that, not a lot going on. I've been doing some spring cleaning and throwing out a lot of "stuff." I figure if I haven't needed something in the past six months, I'm not going to need it. That doesn't include my books, though! And yes, I have been playing WoW - my warrior toon is at level 61 now, and my paladin just hit 20. It's a lot more fun once the levels are above 20, when you aren't being killed all the time!

 Rain rain go away...

After three rainy days, it was good to have a beautiful spring day yesterday. While we had mostly showers up here, Diane, down in Delaware, had some heavier rain. She sent me these before and after photos of Maisie - nothing like a wet and muddy puppy!

Mandisa went in for her OFA xrays yesterday, and we had good news and bad news. The good news is that her hips look great. The bad news is that last fall, when Nemo body slammed her and left her lame for weeks, her cruciate ligament was ruptured
. So in two weeks she is having surgery to get it repaired. At least this time of year there will be no ice or snow and we can go for little walks daily for physical therapy to build the muscle back up. And no more running with Nemo! He's just too wild, the big dope.

Yesterday was Marc's birthday! Woo hoo!!
