 Sitka

Diane lost her Sitka today Sitty was the daughter of our Babs, and a gorgeous stud dog called Turbo. She had injured her spine, and severe and very aggressive arthritis caused her to become paralyzed in the rear, and lead to her early loss. The email Diane sent says it all.

Our Silly Sitka passed away today.
She was a wonderful girl. Practically Perfect in every way.
She left us too soon, at the young age of 6 years old.
She was so proud and left us with her pride and dignity very peacefully.
That much I could do for her since she gave me so much more over the years.
I am forever blessed for having had the privilege of sharing her life with her and we will all miss her terribly and forever but be better for having known her.

Morgan Freeman said it perfectly in the Shawshank Redemption--" I miss my friend"
I do and will forever, but know she is in a wonderful place with her family Mouse and Stella.

 Still Sneezing

Okay, this has gone on long enough - I am sick of being sick! I no longer feel like I've been hit by a truck, but last night my nose started running like a garden hose, the sneezing is out of control, and my eyes are red and swollen from watering - did the flu turn into a head cold? This is nuts! At least I can function in a somewhat normal manner now, as long as the box of Puffs Plus is right next to me!

But never mind with that, the puppies are getting cuter every day now.

And I love this picture - wouldn't it make a challenging jigsaw puzzle?

 The Flu Strikes

Ugh. Both Marc and I are sick with something that seems suspiciously like the flu. Aches and pains, chills, headache, dizziness, stuffed up head and annoying dry cough. Marc was starting to feel crappy when he got home from work Friday night - I felt fine until this morning when I went to the grocery store and a wave of dizziness hit me. It's been downhill every since! So both of us are bundled up in sweatsuits, bathrobes, and comforters drinking lots of hot tea with lemon and being miserable. Marc's going to stay home tomorrow, so at least we won't have to get up too early, and he can help with doggy chores, which go on daily rain or shine, sick or not!

I wish I was at the bottom of this pig pile, staying warm . They have the right idea!

 Puppy Love

The pups are getting more puppy-like, and some eyes are opening now. They were hot today, with the sun shining in the room, and had themselves all spread out - I had to move them together to get them all in the photo!

 Smiles

Jenn sent me this photo of Nushi, who was excited to see them when they came home from being out. I think the name "Bugs" that he got as a newborn still suits him, don't you? What a silly dog!

Sunday morning, Marc went out to the diner around the corner for what has become a winter Sunday morning tradition - pancakes and bacon. Two weeks ago, the bacon wasn't done enough for my taste, so I put it on a place and threw it in the microwave for under a minute. Biz was hanging around looking sad because there wasn't any pancakes for him, so at that time, I let him lick off the bacon plate. This week, I took out the bacon and went to nuke it, but could hardly walk because Biz was underfoot every step of the way. Then it dawned on me - he remembered this routine and wanted to lick the plate again! Just to tease him, I sat down to eat my breakfast, and he gave me the old fish eye, staring at me, then looking at the counter where the plate was, then back to me. After Marc and I both got a good laugh out of it, I did let Biz have the plate. He's too damned smart!

I got an order from Petedge today; puppy collars and puppy toys. Biz was jumping up and down the entire time I was unpacking the box - he was sure those toys were for him. Not this time - as it is he has so many toys in his crate, along with his blanket, that I wonder how he can make himself room to sleep. Usually he has them all piled at one end and uses a few for a pillow!

Later I'll sort out the collars and put them on the pups. It'll be much easier to see who is who without trying to unroll the fabric collars they have on now. Then it will be time for a new photo
